This fall, Netflix is adding another show to its reality TV real estate line-up.
That’s right, the streaming service that airs Selling Sunset, a reality show about real estate in Los Angeles, is premiering Buying Beverly Hills....a reality show about real estate in Los Angeles.
Buying Beverly Hills will star Mauricio Umansky, CEO and founder of The Agency, his daughters Farrah Britney and Alexia Umansky, and top producing agents Jon Grauman, Santiago Arana, Ben Belack, Joey Ben-Zvi, Brandon Graves, Allie Lutz Rosenberger, Melissa Platt and Sonika Vaid to name a few.
This isn’t Umansky’s first appearance on reality TV – he is known for his role in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, alongside his wife Kyle Richards.
The Agency vs. Oppenheim Group
Viewers of the show will get a closer look at Umansky’s billion-dollar brokerage, The Agency, as it follows agents and clients in Southern California.
The Agency, known for its rule of ‘No Assholes,’ is a competitor to Selling Sunset’s Oppenheim Group. So will we see any duels between The Agency and The Oppenheim Group? We don’t know yet. But as far as what we can expect from Buying Beverly Hills, The Agency recently stated:
“We said No Assholes, but we never said No Drama.”
One thing is certain: everyone loves California real estate. Especially when it involves properties like the Playboy Mansion, Walt Disney Estate, and A-list celebrity residences (all of which The Agency has represented). Mix in some drama, and it’s no wonder there’s another show coming about LA’s luxury market.
The antithesis of Selling Sunset
Sure, the plot line sounds very familiar. And although the stars of the show are limited to what they can share, it’s been hinted that Buying Beverly Hills won’t be another Selling Sunset. Meaning, it will have more of a focus on the real estate business and less on sex appeal.
Buying Beverly Hills is scheduled to premiere this fall with eight 40-minute episodes. We’ll definitely be tuning in to see how it all unfolds. The question is: will you watch another real estate reality show?
