This blog post is about the brilliant marketing strategy of embedding a social media post into a blog post to extend the lifespan of the social media post. The best way to demonstrate this of course is to embed a social media post explaining this strategy into THIS blog post. Does this make sense? Of course it doesn’t. But, once you watch (or read) this beautifully articulated explanation by Tom Ferry coach, Jason Pantana, you will understand.

In case you didn’t watch that, at least read his caption because it explains everything:

A post on social (Insta, Facebook, etc.) has approximately the lifespan of a fruit-fly 🪰. It circulates through the feeds for about a day and then abruptly keels over into content oblivion. The fact is, producing and sharing content on a consistent basis is most definitely a grind.

But here me out:  SEO is social media afterlife 😇—it’s the difference between SEARCH vs. SCROLL.

So why not repurpose your social posts as blogs on your website?

Last year, for instance, I published an Instagram Reel that, for all intents and purposes, did well in the feeds. Nevertheless, let’s not forget it was just a fruit-fly🪰—so it flatlined in a day or two. However, the respective blog-post is generating roughly 2,000 – 3,000 clicks per month from related Google searches ever since. Every month Google sends me its Search Console report, and there’s that fruit-fly, transformed into a dragon🐲

I can’t say it any better than that. His caption is also literally a blog post in itself. BAM has been using this strategy since its inception, embedding Instagrams, TikToks and Tweets throughout our blogs to extend the life of the social posts and provide context to different topics. It makes the blogs more fun and allows for visuals to help drive home a point. Also, it revives our social posts every time someone reads that blog.

YOUR BLOG IS WRITTEN FOR YOU

If you didn’t know what to write for your blog or didn’t want to write anything, now you don’t really have to. Take your market updates that you do on Instagram, the charts you post to Facebook, and your skits you post to TikTok and embed them into a blog post, going slightly deeper than you do in the video. OR, just use the caption. Now you have a blog that you can update as much as you post. Your SEO game just 10X’d.

PRO TIP

Jason Pantana also recently mentioned that Facebook videos are better to embed in blogs than Instagram videos because they are horizontal and play directly on the blog. So, if you’re choosing between the two, go with the Facebook post.

I just want to reiterate how valuable this post from Jason Pantana was. First, it was incredible Instagram content that was probably also posted to TikTok and YouTube shorts. Then, it becomes incredible blog content on Tom Ferry’s blog because I’m sure he’ll embed it. And THEN it became an incredible blog for us because we just embedded it. If you’re reading this… that means his strategy WORKS. Try it out.

By the way, if you want to see Jason Pantana speak at the TF Success Summit, this is the cheapest place to get your tickets.
