We’ve all heard the term ‘real estate porn’ being thrown around for anyone with a tendency to browse Zillow.

Do you even work in the real estate industry if you haven’t seen SNL’s Zillow skit?

But today, people are getting off to a different kind of real estate porn.

That’s right, we’re talking actual pornography, with entire sites dedicated to the fantasy of agents getting it on with their clients in mind-blowing properties.

Real Estate Porn

According to VICE, the production company Property Sex gave the genre a platform in 2016. Of course, there have been porn scenes involving real estate agents and landlords for years, but Property Sex is the first to dedicate all of its films to real estate.

There were so many niches at this time that were already done. And I was thinking, something that’s quite popular and a fantasy that hasn’t been really touched before, would be a whole website based on real estate agents just having sex with their clients.

It’s a Hot Market

Immediately after launching the site, Property Sex became one of Pornhub’s top three most searched sites. It is now a Pornhub partner, with close to 2 billion video views and 1.8 million subscribers.

So if you’re looking to get more listing video views, Pornhub might be the way to go.

Porn scholar and author of Alice in Pornland explained to VICE why the genre is so popular:

The real estate agent is practically a mythical figure in pop culture and local lore: often a hot woman, perhaps a little older (cougar type), and flashy. As an English person moving to the U.S., I was really weirded out and fascinated by the real estate agent billboards—the huge photoshopped faces of women with tons of makeup and big hair. It was almost as though the woman herself was a selling point. The process, too, relies on a high degree of performance and getting the client to like you.

Add to the billboards some perfectly curated social media images and real estate reality TV, and the idea of mythically sexy real estate agents has only intensified. Plus, viewers get to combine two fantasies: sex and million-dollar properties.

Cash Flow or Sour Deal?

Ok, so now you’re probably thinking, ‘Where do they film all these scenes?

Because in real estate porn, the set is almost as important as the action. Viewers want to see the types of properties that are unobtainable to most.

I think part of this interest lies in a sense of ‘who owns this house?’ In other words, ‘what lucky/crazy/pervy fucker is renting out his/her house for a porn shoot? What do the neighbors think? How do they clean that white couch?

There’s a mix of attitudes when it comes to using luxury properties as a backdrop for pornography. Some have backed out of deals, and others have sued producers for using rental homes for sex scenes.

On the flip side, some people are happy to rent out their property to porn studios. With the right production company, homeowners can earn thousands of dollars a day. Think of it as an alternative to Airbnb.

Wrapping Up

Whether you’re into porn or not, this shows us something we’ve known as agents for a long time: staging works. Even the biggest porn fans rewatch scenes to get a glimpse of the decor.

And while Property Sex may not exactly be a listing site, it looks like Zillow finally has some competition.
